Shipping & Delivery Policy
At Liddlesdale Venison, we take great care to ensure your wild venison reaches you safely and in excellent condition.
How Your Venison Is Packed
Our venison is dispatched frozen and carefully packed in insulated packaging with cooling materials designed to help maintain a safe temperature during transit.
We use insulated sheep's wool packaging and specialist gel ice packs to protect your order throughout delivery.
Food requiring temperature control should be kept cool during transport, and Food Standards Agency guidance specifically identifies insulated packaging and coolant gel as suitable methods for food delivery.
Delivery Areas
We currently deliver to eligible UK addresses.
Some remote, island or restricted postcode areas may be unavailable for delivery or may require additional delivery arrangements.
If we are unable to deliver to your address, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Dispatch & Delivery
Orders are prepared and dispatched on our designated shipping days.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive confirmation using the contact details provided with your order.
Estimated delivery dates are provided as a guide. While we work closely with our delivery partners to ensure orders arrive promptly, occasional delays may occur.
Because our products are perishable, we strongly recommend that customers are available to receive their delivery or provide appropriate delivery instructions where available.
Safe Place Deliveries
Where you nominate a safe place or provide specific delivery instructions, the courier may leave your order in the nominated location.
Please choose a secure, shaded and appropriate location.
Once an order has been delivered to a safe place specifically nominated by you, you should collect the parcel and place the venison into appropriate frozen or refrigerated storage as soon as possible.
Receiving Your Venison
Please open your parcel as soon as possible after delivery.
Your venison is dispatched frozen. Depending on delivery conditions, products may not always feel completely solid on arrival.
Check the condition of the products and packaging immediately.
If you have any concerns about the temperature, packaging or condition of your order, do not consume the product and contact us as soon as possible.
Please include your order number and clear photographs of the parcel, packaging and affected products so that we can investigate.
Delivery Delays
As we sell perishable food products, we take delivery issues seriously.
If your order is significantly delayed, lost in transit or arrives in a condition that causes concern, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will investigate the issue with the delivery provider and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.
Incorrect or Damaged Orders
If you receive an incorrect product or your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible after delivery.
Please provide:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photographs of the product and packaging
This allows us to investigate the problem quickly and provide an appropriate resolution.
Perishable Products & Returns
Due to the perishable nature of fresh and frozen meat products, we are generally unable to accept returns simply because a customer has changed their mind.
This does not affect your statutory rights where products are faulty, damaged, misdescribed or otherwise not supplied in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Incorrect Delivery Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details when placing an order.
Please check your delivery address carefully before completing checkout.
If you notice an error, contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that delivery details can be changed once an order has entered the dispatch process.
